Oh Susanna and Signore Fox Salute

Tara Madgwick - Sunday June 9
Less than 24 hours after Signore Fox won his first Black Type race when taking out the Listed BRC Daybreak Lover Plate at Eagle Farm, it was the turn of his famed multiple Group I winning half-sister Oh Susanna, who landed the Group II Tibouchina Stakes at Greyville in South Africa.

Read about Signore Fox here.

Signore Fox (pictured) and Oh Susanna both won stakes races on SaturdayPrepared by Justin Snaith, Oh Susanna scored a long neck win in the 1400 metre sprint as favourite,

Another freakishly good daughter of Darley's much missed Street Cry, who has also given us Winx, Zenyatta and Stradbroke winner Trekking, Oh Susanna has won six of 14 starts more than justifying the big price paid for her dam Sharp Susan (USA) in 2012.

When US Group II winner Sharp Susan was offered at the 2012 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale by Tyreel Stud she attracted plenty of global attention with Badgers Bloodstock securing the prized mare for $1,050,000.

Purchased on behalf of South African based Drakenstein Stud, Sharp Susan was sent to stud initially in Australia before being sent to the Northern Hemisphere in 2016.

Foaled and raised at Coolmore before being sent to South Africa as a yearling, Oh Susanna is the best of four winners for Sharp Susan, whose first foal Indiano Jones was Group II placed in the US.
