Newgate Proud to Present Blueblood Stallion Prospect

Media Release - Monday May 20

A full brother to Champion European 2YO / 3YO Miler and rising young sire Gleneagles, impeccably bred Galileo stallion The Taj Mahal (IRE) has the pedigree of champions being from a full sister to champion racehorse and sire Giant's Causeway and grand-daughter of Mariah's Storm.

He is set to be a star attraction at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast when he is offered at the conclusion of Day One of the Broodmare Sale on May 28 and you can see more on this exciting prospect in this video.

Winner of the last two runnings of the Group II MRC Zipping Classic at Sandown, The Taj Mahal was also Group I placed and has raced on three continents.

He was brought to Australia by Nick and Lloyd Williams from the all conquering Coolmore stable at Ballydoyle and is offered on behalf of Team Williams.

"The Taj Mahal was a tough, genuine horse who was unlucky not to win a Group One in Australia," part owner Nick Williams said. "He ran in some of the biggest Group One races in both hemispheres.

"It's not often a horse with such an incredible pedigree has the looks to match. He's an absolutely outstanding individual and his family is high class and very current.

"In my opinion he's the best opportunity for a middle distance stallion in this part of the world since Dundeel."

The Taj Mahal is by world champion sire and proven sire of sires Galileo from the Group II winner and blue hen You'resothrilling, a full sister to champion racehorse and sire Giant's Causeway.

You'resothrilling has left five foals to race so far and all are stakes-winners sired by Galileo with Gleneagles and The Taj Mahal joined by Group I winning fillies Happily (Champion European 2YO Filly of 2017) and Marvellous as well as Group III winner Coolmore.

Given the power and quality of this pedigree it's not surprising that Gleneagles has sired two winners from his first two runners and was priced at 30,000 euros at Coolmore in Ireland this year after his first yearlings sold for as much as 600,000 euros in 2018.

The Taj Mahal is available for inspection from this Sunday at the Gold Coast and click here for his sales brochure.
