Dam of Cruze Sells Tonight

Media Release - Monday May 13

Pierro three-year-old Cruze provided his dam Alessandra with a timely update courtesy of a smart win at Doomben on Saturday.

AlessandraOvercoming traffic in the straight Cruze muscled his way into the clear and let down impressively for a one-length victory over the 1350m trip.

Cruze is the second foal to race out of Alessandra, a winning daughter of Fastnet Rock out of stakes performer and Gr.1 Irish Oaks fourth-placegetter Beldarian (Last Tycoon) who is also the dam of Gr.1 Queensland Derby winner Dariana (Redoute's Choice).

Alessandra is set to sell tonight on gavelhouse.com as Lot 34 and is in foal to young Monsun stallion Vadamos.

Offered on account of Curraghmore, Gordon Cunningham describes Alessandra as a quality mare who he can confidently recommend to prospective purchasers "She has a great physique and temperament, much like her sire Fastnet Rock,"

"We also have high hopes for the Vancouver colt that was sold to Tony Pike at Karaka earlier this year for $180,000."
