Saturday at Randwick was a day to remember and here are three horses to follow out of the meeting which should prove profitable during the spring.

CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES
Class fillies Formality and Alizee fought out a tooth and nail battle down the Randwick straight in Saturday's Silver Shadow Stakes, but it was Champagne Cuddles that was strongest through the line. Narrowly beaten into third, Bjorn Baker's filly chased strongly, clocking a final 600m of 32.27 seconds. That was 0.23 seconds faster than any of her rivals and she paired two sub-11 second closing sections – running her final 400m in splits of 10.52 and 10.73 secs. Proven on good and heavy going – there should be something for her in the weeks ahead.
Career record (3:2-1-0).
Race to look for – Any 3YO event 1200-1400m

ARRESTAR
Matt Dunn's three-year-old was the unlucky runner in Saturday's Highway Plate. Barrier one proved a disadvantage when Tye Angland found himself with a lapful of horse but nowhere to go in the straight. A narrow split closed and Arrestar was badly checked, losing momentum before eventually working clear at the 150m mark and running on strongly. A final 200m of 11.28 seconds was 0.20 secs faster than anything else in the race. With victories already posted from 1000m to 1615m – there will be plenty of time to get our money back on this good looking son of Star Witness.
Career record (11:2-0-2).
Race to look for – Highway or 3YO race in Queensland (1600m)

LIFE LESS ORDINARY
Chris Waller filled the quinella in the Benchmark 90 (1400m) and whilst the winner Comin' Through may well win a few more races during the spring, the real eye-catcher was the runner-up Life Less Ordinary. Ridden by 3kg apprentice Lee Magorrian, the six-year-old former European settled well back in a slowly run affair and was last turning for home. Wound-up strongly along the inside – posting a final 600m of 32.34 seconds including final splits of 10.53 and 10.94. Winning distance range is 1800m to 3218m so Waller has plenty of options available.
Career record (20:5-8-0).
Race to look for – Any Group race 1600m plus
