Last Snowdrift Foal a Winner

Revered blue hen Snowdrift (Fr) passed away at Cressfield earlier this year and her last foal, a two year-old colt by Snitzel, broke his maiden at the Gold Coast on Wednesday for the Kris Lees stable.

Snowzone as a yearlingSnowzone was having his second run back from a spell and bolted clear to win the 1200 metre maiden by nearly three lengths in a dominant display.

A $220,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Cressfield draft for Australian Bloodstock, Snowzone is the last foal and tenth winner from Snowdrift, whose list of superior offspring is headed by Group I winner Snowland, Group II winner Portillo (dam of Group II winner Ghisoni) and stakes-winner Snippetson.

Snowzone was one of two juvenile winners on Wednesday for Snitzel joining Canterbury winner Discharged giving the champion sire 18 two year-old winners for the season.
