Trained by Mike de Kock, he scored a neck win in the 1600 metre contest, his second win from nine starts.

A $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum from the Mill Park draft, Mutrib was bred by Mill Park in partnership and is a half-brother to triple Group I winner and $3.8 million earner Fawkner, Group II winner and $1.1 million earner Tanby and Group II placed Viking Star.

He is one of seven winners from seven to race from blue hen Dane Belltar, whose current yearling, a colt by More Than Ready (USA) made $225,000 a Inglis Easter earlier this year.

Dane Belltar is due to foal this spring to Sebring.

Making it a winning double for Aussie breds in the next race was Big Myth (4m Big Brown (USA) Nufoos).
