Juvenile Trial Watch - Randwick

Tara Madgwick - Monday May 6
Champion sire Lonhro has been having a phenomenal season with his two year-olds and this eye-catching winner at the Randwick trials on Monday morning might add to his success.

Skymist is a three-quarter sister-in-blood to G1 winner ExosphereFive two year-old heats were run this morning with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott sure to be happy with the performance of Lonhro filly Skymist, a homebred filly for Corumbene Stud.

She won her first trial at the same venue on April 26 and looked sharp and well educated for her second outing, bouncing to the front and cruising along in the lead to win the 748 metre heat in 43.39 seconds eased down to the line.

Dark and elegant as are so many of the good Lonhro's, Skymist is a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group I ATC Golden Rose winner Exosphere being the first foal of Daytime, who is a half-sister by Choisir to his dam Altitude.

Gai Waterhouse has had a lot of success for George Altomonte's Corumbene Stud over the years, notably with Golden Slipper winner Overreach and Champion 2YO Hasna, so will be hoping Skymist can continue the tradition.
