Fee Revised for Champion 3YO Trapeze Artist

Media Release - Saturday May 4

On Friday evening at the Inglis Chairman Sale it was announced that the 2019 service fee for Trapeze Artist (Snitzel) will be reset at $88,000 incl gst.

Trapeze ArtistA four time group 1 winning sprinter, Trapeze Artist retired to Widden Stud last month as one of the most high profile sires in recent years.

"Acknowledging the service fee to be a point of discussion, we've had open discussions with breeders over the last fortnight, listened to them and have adjusted the service fee accordingly,"  said Widden Stud's Ryan McEvoy

"This revised fee we feel represents a fairer introductory figure and we've been encouraged by the level of support from some of Australia's leading breeders.

"Trapeze Artist is a rare animal, the most exciting young sire to retire to stud this season, and we couldn't be more excited to ensure he becomes a champion stallion."

A nomination to Trapeze Artist donated by the Vieira family was sold at the start of the Inglis Chairman's Sale for $105,000 to Sun Stud with proceeds going to injured jockey Tye Angland and his family.

Angland and his wife Erin were at Riverside for the evening, their "first real night out'' since Angland's fall in Hong Kong last year.

"This is Tye's first proper outing since the accident so it's great that he's in an environment where he's got lots of support and friends in the room here,'' Erin Angland said.

"We're absolutely thrilled with this result. We're so humbled by Bert and his family. They've been through their own struggles of late and this just shows his character.

"We're very lucky.''
