500,000 Euro Colt for Charm Spirit

Windsor Park shuttle stallion, Charm Spirit, has enjoyed success on the second day of the Arqana Yearling Sale at Deauville with a colt by the three-time European Group One winner selling for 500,000 euros.

Charm Spirit colt from KarticaOut of stakes placed Rainbow Quest mare, Kartica, the colt was knocked down to the bid of Shadwell Farm France who purchased the youngster from the Haras du Cadran Stud draft.

"He is a very nice individual by a late maturing but very good racehorse,” Shadwell’s Angus Gold said. "Charm Spirit is an exciting young stallion. This colt is a half-brother to a top-class filly and I liked him more every time I saw him.”

Charm Spirit commenced stud duties at Windsor Park in 2015, with his first crop of yearlings set to go through the sale ring at Karaka in 2018.

The son of Invincible Spirt raced nine times for six wins, with his three Group One victories, including the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, coming in his last three starts. – NZ Racing Desk
