Woodside Park Announce 2019 Fees

Media Release - Thursday April 18
Woodside Park Stud is extremely proud to announce our 2019 Stallion Roster that will once again be headed by Victoria's Champion Sire Written Tycoon, a stallion who really needs no introduction.

Written Tycoon"A beacon for the Victorian industry, Written Tycoon's appeal extends far beyond as he is one of only a handful of stallions to have sired two individual colts to win the two richest G1 2YO features on the Australian turf calendar; Golden Slipper – Capitalist and Blue Diamond – Written By, with breed-shapers Redoute's Choice and Danehill the only other stallions in the past 25 years to do so," enthused Woodside Park Stud's General Manager Commercial James Price.

Joining Written Tycoon is his fastest ever son Rich Enuff, whose first crop of yearlings have sold very well at the sales, while Invincible Spirit's son Cable Bay will stand his third season in Victoria, and off the back of the early success achieved by his first crop of European runners, everyone is looking forward to his return.

"Fascinating, and highly anticipating 12 months ahead for these two stallions with their first runners on the track in 2019. Everybody has loved the physique of Rich Enuff's stock, while Cable Bay's first three runners for two winners and a second is simply extraordinary."

Tosen StardomTosen Stardom, the only dual Australian G1-winning son of world dominator Deep Impact to stand at stud in Australia will cover his second book of mares, while G1 winning and G1 producing sire Foxwedge will cover his first Victorian book of mares since joining the farm earlier this year.

Standing for an unchanged fee of $110,000 (inc. GST), Written Tycoon is the sire of 49 stakes performers to date led by six individual G1 winners added to this season by Booker's win the Oakleigh Plate.

With his current yearling crop selling up to $900,000 at both the Magic Millions Yearling Sale and Inglis Easter Yearling Sale as well as topping the second day of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, the progeny of Written Tycoon are clearly in demand in the sale ring due to the continued racetrack performances of his runners.

The sustained success of seven-time Champion Sire Deep Impact, who achieved his 40th individual G1 winner recently, has continued to see outstanding interest in his son Tosen Stardom who will remain at a fee of $19,250 (inc. GST).

With impressive fertility, the G1 Toorak Handicap and G1 Emirates Stakes winner was one of only four Victorian first season sires to cover more than 120 mares, a true testament to his popularity.

"With a season under his belt, Tosen Stardom has let down into a true equine marvel. Breeders will see he has transformed into a tremendous equine athlete."

FoxwedgeAnnounced earlier this year, Fastnet Rock's G1 William Reid Stakes winner Foxwedge has been a highly anticipated addition to the roster, warmly received by Victorian breeders and will stand at $16,500 (inc. GST).

"This price offers incredible value. With his credentials as a sire, at this price he has no peer in Victoria. The risk has been removed with Foxwedge – he is the sire of G1 winners and breeders have the opportunity to breed their own G1 winner at a very affordable price."

Already represented by a host of talented performers on the track led by G1 winners Foxplay, Volpe Veloce and Urban Fox, Foxwedge's current 2 and 3YO racing crops contain many up and coming performers including Gerald Ryan's G2 filly Villami as well as the unbeaten, Australian-bred, South African raced Run For Run who looks destined for black type success.

Cable BayCable Bay's first European crop of runners have hit the track running, literally... showing tremendous speed, the stunning son of Invincible Spirit has been represented by just three runners, for two winners, with a combined winning margin of nine lengths, while his other runner finished a head second at her only start.

Set to return for his third Australian season at a fee of $13,200 (inc. GST), Cable Bay is sure to prove tremendously popular once again, with all mares selected for the stallion needing to pass a mating compatibility test, Cable Bay is being given every chance to succeed.

Rich EnuffWith some very encouraging results with his first crop yearlings selling up to $300,000 at the Magic Millions sale in January, Written Tycoon's G2-winning, G1 placed Rich Enuff will stand for $12,100 (inc. GST).

With trainers expressing their delight at his progeny, we are looking forward to seeing his first crop contest the early juvenile races of the new season, and with Rich Enuff being the fastest 3YO over the Flemington 1200m, we expect him to be a leading contender in the first-season sire race.
