Darley Announce 2019 Fees

Darley stallions have dominated Group I racing this season making their release of 2019 service fees one of the most anticipated of the year. 

Darley's Australian and New Zealand-based stallions are enjoying a truly exceptional season, both on the track and in the sales ring, with 21 Darley-sired G1 winners and 57 Group winners, including all three G1 two-year-old races to have run so far.

From established sires such as Exceed And Excel and Lonhro , to exciting young stallions including Brazen Beau , the Darley stallions have been represented by numerous winners from smart two-year-olds to seasoned racetrack performers.

Juvenile winners are the order of the day, and the Darley stallions have certainly delivered them, siring the winners of the Golden Slipper, the Blue Diamond Stakes and the Sires' Produce.

In the Slipper, Kiamichi led home a Darley-sired 1-2-3, while in the Blue Diamond it was Lonhro's daughter Lyre who was much too good and in the Sires, Exceed And Excel's powerful son Microphone got home first.

Lonhro has sired six individual Group winners in Australia this current season, led by the aforementioned Lyre, VRC Oaks heroine Aristia, plus impressive three-year-old colt Encryption, together with Ranier, Pin Sec and Amercement.

His US-bred son Gronkowski came the closest of seconds to Thunder Snow in the G1 Dubai World Cup. Lonhro will stand the current season at Kelvinside in the Hunter Valley at a fee of $77,000 inc GST.

Only four sires in Australia have sired three or more juvenile Stakes winners this season and two are Darley stallions – Lonhro and Exceed And Excel .

Exceed And Excel is responsible for no fewer than 13 Black Type winners in six countries so far this season, including Microphone, Bivouac and McLaren. Exceed And Excel will stand his 16th season in Australia for $88,000 inc GST.

One of the country's most exciting up and coming stallions, Brazen Beau has sired two exceptional early two-year-old winners from his first crop in Tassort and Accession. 

He has also impressed in the sales ring, topping the Inglis Classic Sale for the past two years and the Inglis Premier in 2019.

Only last week, Brazen Beau reached a new milestone when his yearling colt from Just Discreet sold for $1.15 million at the 2019 Inglis Easter Sale. Brazen Beau will stand at a fee of $49,500 inc GST at Northwood Park in Victoria.

Astern's first-crop weanlings will make their sales debut at the Magic Millions Weanling Sale where he has 17 entered. The highest-rated son of leading sire Medaglia d'Oro will stand at Kelvinside for a fee of $33,000 inc GST.

The first yearlings by Teofilo's champion miler Kermadec sold for up to $520,000 at the Inglis Premier sale, while Exosphere recorded a high of NZ$350,000 at Karaka.

Shooting To Win has four winners from his first crop, including the G3-performing colt Shotmaker.

Epaulette's runners have enjoyed their best season yet on the track, led by multiple G1 winner Soqrat. He now has six Stakes winners from his first crop, equal to Zoustar.

Sepoy's exceptional filly Alizee won her first G1 in open company, and her third overall, in the Futurity Stakes at Caulfield. She is among seven Stakes winners for Sepoy this year. The world Champion sprinter will stand at Northwood Park in Victoria at a fee of $11,000 inc GST.

New stallion Harry Angel will start his first Australian season at $22,000, with fellow newcomer Kementari standing at a fee of at $33,000, inc GST.
