Racing for the first time since finishing a close second in The Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in June, Order Of St George was settled off the early pace set by Twilight Payment and Renneti.

Ryan Moore sent Order Of St George (1/2 fav) into the lead a furlong and a half out and went to the line 4 3/4-lengths clear of Rekindling (13/2) with Twilight Payment (20/1) a further 2 1/2-lengths away third in the six-runner field.

The Willie Mullins-trained Wicklow Brave (8/1) was in third place three furlongs out but was unable to quicken and was beaten 7 3/4-lengths in fourth.

Moore said the Aidan O'Brien-trained Order Of St George appreciated the softer ground, officially listed as yielding.

"It was nice ground and the race suited him well. He's a big horse and likes that bit of an ease," Moore told the Sporting Life.

"It was a good race but he's a high-class horse and was third in the Arc."
