$900,000 Yearling and a New Winner for Rubick

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 9
Tuesday was a great day for Coolmore's exciting young sire Rubick with a new winner at Hawkesbury and a new benchmark in the salering when his colt from November Flight sold for $900,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on Tuesday.

$900,000 Rubick colt from November FlightConsigned by Kitchwin Hills, the star colt is a half-brother to Group II winner and $2.7 million earner Pierata and Group III winner Ashokan. He was knocked down to Tom Magnier/ Ciaron Maher Bloodstock and is the eighth foal of Flying Spur's Group III winning daughter November Flight.

November Flight has been a regular visitor to Coolmore and is now back in foal to Pierata's sire Pierro.

Rubick moved to a tally of eight first crop winners when the Brad Widdup trained filly Chia bolted in to win by nearly three lengths over 1300 metres at Hawkesbury after leading all the way.

Chia was fourth beaten half a length by subsequent Golden Slipper winner Kiamichi last November, so obviously has a touch of class.

A $130,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Rheinwood Pastoral draft for Jadeskye Racing/ Brad Widdup Racing / Andrew William Bloodstock, Chia is the third winner for Mulu Miss, who comes from the family of Golden Slipper winners Merlene and Capitalist as well as Group I winning fillies Miss Pennymoney and Dear Demi.

Chia is the eighth winner for Rubick, whose offspring are headed by Group II winner Yes Yes Yes and stakes horses Krameric, Biscara and Alburq.
