Pivotal Moment For Grandview Stud Stallion Under The Louvre

Media Release - Thursday April 4
With the Queensland breeding industry flourishing with the likes of Spirit of Boom, Better Than Ready, Whittington and Sidestep it is easy to forget that on our own doorstep resides a Group 1 winning Stallion with bloodlines that are very rare in this country.

Under The LouvreWhen Avilius (pic) took out his consecutive Group 1 victory last Saturday in the Tancred Stakes he took his Sire Pivotal progeny career earning's to $126,675,030. He also claimed the super stallions 313 Stakes Race win, of which 155 of those have been recorded in Group races. In total, Pivotal has produced 29 Individual Group 1 winners.

One of those is the Sire of Grandview's Group 1 resident stallion Under the Louvre. Excellent Art saluted at the famous Royal Ascot meeting in the time honoured St James Palace Stakes and he to has done a stellar job at stud. He has sired 20 Stakes winners and along the way accumulated $37,896.018 in prize money.

It is Under The Louvre's Grand Sire Pivotal (pic's below) however that has proven to be the golden ticket. The stallions results with his progeny put him up there amongst the best Stallions of all time and he is proving around the world to be a Sire of sires.

Those sire sons include Kyllachy who produced 32 Individual stakes winners amassing $47,851,713 in winning 80 stakes races. The other standout is arguably the hottest stallion right now in the world Siyouni. What he is doing at studis nearly beyond belief.

From only 2 good sized crops to hit the track after having very limited numbers in his first 2 seasons, he has already produced 27 individual stakes winners of 48 stakes races accumulating $24,750,269, two of those Group 1 winners. He has it all in front of him being only 12 years of age this year.

What does all this mean for Queensland breeders? It means that you have direct access to these bloodlines through our Group 1 winning stallion Under the Louvre at a price that is in reach of us all. Under The Louvre has left great types on the ground and this was represented in his second year at studwhere he served 30% more mares than he did in his first season.

Owner Michael Grieve was the first person to see the early foals and could not have been more pleased with them. " Breeders who sent Under The Louvre one mare in the first season sent him two the next as they were simply thrilled with what he left on the ground" he enthused. He went on to say " at $6,600 his fee is set at a price to allowbothbreed to race and commercial breeders a chance to send their mares to him".

Over the past 4 breeding seasons, Queensland breeders have had a golden opportunity to breed to stallions who have gone on to take the national scene by storm. All at Grandview believe that for the 2019breeding season that stallion is standing in the paddocks at their base at Peaks Crossing.

Our Group 1 winning stallion UNDER THE LOUVRE continues to throw types that look like they will run and run early. He has stamped his progeny with consistency and importantly thrown types that look like himself rather than that necessarily of the mare. He is dominating the gene pool!!

Under the Louvre himself was a racehorse who could run sectionals which put him in the top echelon of sprinters in this country. Actually, that is underselling his ability, in all he was 4 times Group 1 placed with the combined margin of those defeats being only 2.85 lengths. Of course, he was also the winner of Qld's most famed race The Stradbroke Handicap.

At $6,600 incl. GST the opportunity is there to breed to Under The Louvre knowing that his foals are looking much like himself. That has to be a good thing!
