Snitzel Juveniles on Fire

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 27
Arrowfield Stud's champion sire Snitzel has been rocketing through March with what seems like multiple winners every day of the month and Wednesday was no different with a flurry of winners including the juvenile trifecta on the fillies maiden at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Wayupinthesky as a yearlingA $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Arrowfield draft for Kitchwin Hills, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly Wayupinthesky appreciated a drop back to maiden class having finished a good fifth on debut in the Group II ATC Reisling Stakes behind Tenley.

She was a short priced favourite and pulled out plenty under pressure to score a short head win over the Godolphin entry Badia, ironically a $600,000 Magic Millions purchase for Godolphin from the Kitchwin Hills draft.

They were a length and a half in front of the third horse home Our Girl Sniti, yet another daughter of Snitzel.

Set to progress to Black type races at The Championships next month, Wayupinthesky is the first winner for The Darling One, a Group II placed Lonhro mare from the family of Group II winner and $1.5 million earner Rain Affair.

Snitzel also had the two year-old winner at Strathalbyn with the Tony McEvoy trained gelding Abshiroo successful at his third start bringing a pedigree update for his Inglis Easter bound half-sister.

Segenhoe Stud will offer the I Am Invincible filly from Fitna as Lot 13. Abshiroo is the first winner for Fitna, who is a half-sister by Fastnet Rock to Group I winner The Mission from Group I winner Carry on Cutie, both Group I winners claiming their career defining victory in the champagne Stakes at Randwick.

Wayupinthesky and Abshiroo bring Snitzel's tally of seasonal two year-old winners to 13 which is only one shy of I Am Invincible and Better Than Ready.
