Not a Single Double

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 27
Arrowfield Stud might have lost their beloved Redoute's Choice, but they can take solace from his champion sons including Not a Single Doubt who posted a quick two year-old double on Wednesday with the first winners at Warwick Farm and Seymour.

Not a Single Doubt was in hot form with his 2YO's on WednesdayA homebred for Shadwell Stud, the Hayes Dabernig trained filly Maqsad opened her account with a tenacious half neck win in the 1000 metre maiden at Seymour beating Not a Single Doubt colt Abiding.

Maqsad is the second winner for Moojeh, a half-sister by More than Ready (USA) to seven time Group I winner and $5million earner Grand Armee from the family of recent New Zealand Group I winning two year-old Yourdeel.

Moojeh was an expensive purchase for Shadwell, bought for $1.2 million at the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. Shadwell got a little bit back from Moojeh earlier this year when Yarraman sold a Not a Single Doubt filly on their behalf at Magic Millions for $220,000 with Aquis and Mick Price securing the well bred youngster.

Gary Portelli was well pleased with a winning debut for his good looking Not a Single Doubt colt Not Feint Heated, the handsome bay making light work of the heavy ground an outside gate to win by more than a length over 1100 metres.

Not Feint Hearted"He was getting tired late, but he's a lovely horse going forward," he said.

A $100,000 Magic Millions Perth purchase for Portelli from the draft of Misty Valley Thoroughbreds, Not Feint Hearted is raced by a big syndicate of all women owners and while they may have missed the MM 2YO bonus, they will have a lot of fun with this colt as his career unfolds.

Not Feint Hearted is the fourth winner from four foals to race from handy Perth winner Feint.

Not a Single Doubt was the first son of Redoute's Choice Arrowfield retired to stud and while he did not have a Group I win on his resume, his speed and pedigree were enough to earn him a slot on the roster and what a good decision that proved to be.

Not a Single Doubt stood his first six seasons at a fee of $13,750 and last year was standing at a well deserved $99,000. He will have one of the highlight lots at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale next month with the three-quarter brother to The Autumn Sun to be offered as Lot 369.
