First Season Sires at Gold Coast March

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 20
The Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale produced good results for first season sires with Newgate Farm's Super One the most successful by average with three or more sold and Aquis Farm's Spill the Beans the leader by aggregate.

I Am Invincible's brilliant son super One has achieved good results at all the sales this year and they continued here with his three year-olds averaging $76,667 off an $11,000 fee making for a handsome profit for his supporters. He was also the leading sire overall by average at this sale.

His best result was a filly from Brave Choice that made $90,000 for Lyndhurst Stud when snapped up by Koidco Limited.

Written Tycoon's first son to stud Rich Enuff is now based in Victoria at Woodside Park, but stood his first season in Queensland for Glenlogan Park so had good numbers at this sale.

He had 12 yearlings average $63,250 with his top seller a filly from Kalseru that made $120,000 for KBL Thoroughbreds when bought by Mishani Enterprises. She was one of three yearlings that made $100,000 or more for Rich Enuff.

Spill the Beans was the most popular first season sire in Australia in 2016, so he was the most represented first season sire at this sale and his 26 yearlings sold for an aggregate $890,000 making him the third leading sire overall by aggregate behind only Better Than Ready and Spirit of Boom.

Ha averaged $34,231 and his best result came with a colt from Loves Great that made $170,000 for Tullyard when knocked down to Helen Page.

Arrowfield Stud's Real Impact (Jpn) made his mark with just one yearling entered that made $100,000. Consigned by Jorson Farm and bought by LB Racing, the filly is from Brooms.
