One to Watch – Kembla

Tara Madgwick - Friday March 15
This full brother to Group III Canberra Black Opal Stakes winner Pin Sec kept his unbeaten record intact at Kembla on Friday.

LonhroSet a decent task, tackling 1400 metres first up from a spell on a heavy track, the James Cummings trained three year-old Lonhro gelding Restrained rise to the occasion coasting home to win by a length.

With three wins from three starts, Restrained appeals as a progressive type and while he has taken more time to mature than his precocious sister Pin Sec, he too may end up as a Black Type horse.

Restrained and Pin Sec are the first two foals from Moderate, a stakes-winning daughter of Commands. She has a weanling filly by Street Boss (USA), but unfortunately missed to Lonhro last year so will have no foal this spring.

Lonhro is enjoying a brilliant season with his two year-olds with five winners from 10 runners headed by his Group I MRC Blue Diamond winner Lyre and Group II winners Amercement and Pin Sec.

Turning 21 this year, Lonhro covered 117 mares last year at a fee of $55,000.
