Rushton Park's Graduate an All Star Contender

Media Release - Tuesday March 12

With the hype and publicity surrounding the upcoming All-Star Mile at Flemington, Rushton Park graduate Mr Money Bags is proudly flying the Victorian flag.

Mr MoneybagsBorn, raised and sold at the Adelaide Magic Millions by Rushton Park for the bargain price of only $25,000, he has undoubtedly repaid that back in spades.

Rushton's David and Kayley Johnston remember him well as a great type and an athletic foal.

"Unfortunately, he had an issue, and as the Written Tycoon hadn't yet taken off, there was limited interest. We were lucky Robbie Griffiths bought him, and he has remarked that he has been one of the soundest horses in his stable. It goes to show how important correct management is, and amazingly he is now a chance for the $5 million purse."

With seven horses at the Adelaide Magic Millions sale, Rushton Park are offering a diverse mix of yearlings and they hope there is another bargain like Mr Money Bags in their draft this year.

"Our Dundeel filly (Lot 157) is a standout on the complex. Out of the Danehill Dancer mare, Swan River, she would not be out of place in Book 1 of Premier. She is a great type, and deservedly very popular during inspections."

"A well-grown, good-sized filly, if there was a Group 1 race for walking, she would take the prize. She is an athletic horse that moves beautifully, that will be on the market and reasonably priced."

"Our Trust in a Gust colt (Lot 247) out of the Bernardini mare, Bikini Dancer is a quality colt that will be offered on behalf of Willaroon Thoroughbreds. He is a forward, well-grown and he will be very well received," Johnston said.

"The Jabali (Lot 267) is a lovely filly, and a three-quarter sister to the stakes winner Chinchilla. She has a notable update on the page, now being the dam of a Group 3 placed three-year-old. She is offered on behalf of good client Michael Hadley from Balance Thoroughbreds."

"Overall, they are a nice even group of horses that will be priced to meet the Adelaide market. Let's hope the many inspections we have done translate to bids in the ring, and they find good stables and success on the racetrack."

Rushton Park are still celebrating a very successful Inglis Premier sale held only a week ago.

"We were pleased after Premier selling with 100% clearance and grossing just a tick under a million. Our nice horses made good money and everything else was right on the mark."

"We offered a mix of horses bred on the farm, client's horses and pin hooks and we want to thank all the clients for their support and the buyers for taking the time to inspect our draft and place a bid."
