Debut Winner for Wandjina

On the eve of the Group I VRC Australian Guineas, which he won in 2015, Wandjina has posted a promising debut winner with a tenacious front running victory for Order of Valour at Kyneton on Thursday.

Order of Valour as a yearlingThe Henry Dwyer trained colt was easy in the market, but showed natural pace to lead and kicked off the bend to open up a break before fighting strongly to the line to win the 1100 metre maiden by a short head.

A $220,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Rosemont Stud draft for his trainer, Order of Valour runs f or a big ownership group that will be delighted with this result.

Order of Valour is a three-quarter brother to stakes-winner Prairie Fire and is the second winner for Consistency, an unraced half-sister by All Bar One to stakes-winner and stakes producer Nina Haraka and to the dam of Group I winner Snitzerland and Group II winner Sooboog, both of them sired by Wandjina's sire Snitzel.

Order of Valour is the second winner for Newgate Farm's Wandjina joining the Group III placed Deep Chill.

Wandjina was popular again last spring covering 124 mares at a fee of $22,000 and has a dozen entries for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale starting this Sunday..
