"It's undecided whether he will go to stud or race on (as a five-year-old)," Fairgray said.

"We'll just see how he goes in the autumn but ultimately, we hope he will stand at Yulong."

Fairgray said Yulong was developing their Nagambie base in Victoria for stallions to serve mares in the coming seasons and Grunt is set to be the first stallion to stand for the Yulong team.

Trained by Mick Price, Grunt has won five of 10 starts and over $1.2 million in prizemoney with feature wins in the Group I VRCMakybe Diva Stakes and Australian Guineas, a sire making race that has produced the likes of Zabeel, Flying Spur, Pins, Al Maher and Reset.

He is from a half-sister to Cox Plate winner and successful sire Ocean Park from the family of Golden Slipper winner Courtza.
