Pierro 2YO Bolts In

Tara Madgwick - Friday February 22
The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable don't send many horses to Canberra, but produced a super impressive winner in the nation's capital on Friday when Pierro colt Bellevue Hill coasted home in a class of his own.

Bellevue Hill as a yearlingSent out favourite for the 1000 metre juvenile open plate, Bellevue Hill travelled on the pace and zoomed away to win by more than five lengths in a slick 57.15 seconds.

A $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Aquis Farm draft for G Waterhouse / Blue Sky Bloodstock (FBAA) / Rifa Mustang / Raffles Racing, Bellevue Hill runs for a big syndicate including Aquis, in whose familiar aqua colours he runs.

Bred by Aquis Farm, Bellevue Hill is the second winner from Exceed and Excel mare Bellevue Girl, a full sister to Group III winning 2YO Sugar Babe from multiple Group II winner On Type.

Bellevue Girl has a weanling filly by Pierro and was one of 149 mares covered by Aquis Farm's exciting young sire Spieth last spring.
