Stakes Quinella for Needs Further

Classy Tasmanian based sire Needs Further was in hot form at Launceston on Wednesday delivering the quinella in the Listed Gold Sovereign Stakes with undefeated filly Mystical Pursuit scoring a narrow victory over Deroche.

Needs Further is in hot form ahead of the Tasmanian Magic MillionsTrained by Adam Trinder, Mystical Pursuit surged home from off the pace to win the 1200 metre sprint by a short half head.

A three-quarter sister-in-blood to spring Group II winner Mystic Journey, Mystical Pursuit has won four from four banking over $202,000 in prizemoney.

A $28,000 Magic Millions Tasmania purchase for Wayne Roser from the Armidale Stud draft, Mystical Pursuit is the second winner from Oh So Gold, an unraced half-sister by Savoire Vivre (GB) to Mystic Journey, winner of the Group II MVRC Moonee Valley Fillies Classic.

Mystical Pursuit is another great reason to look hard at the 2019 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale where her sire Needs Further is the most represented at the sale with 21 youngsters on offer.
