A sire sensation in Europe last year where he was the Champion First Season Sire of 2018, Coolmore shuttler No Nay Never had four youngsters average $105,000 from an $11,000 fee. His best result was a colt from Laureling that made $150,000 for Coolmore when snapped up by Paul Perry.
Such was the overwhelming success of No Nay Never last year that the son of Scat Daddy is slated to stand at Coolmore this year in Ireland at a fee of 100,000 euros. He covered 98 mares here last spring at a fee of $19,250.
Darley's Group I winning miler Kermadec had a strong sale with 10 yearlings averaging $97,300 and he also posted the single best result of any first season sire with his colt from Loading Zone fetching $280,000 for Two Bays Farm when selling to Triple Crown Syndications.
Kermadec covered just 54 mares last spring which was a significant drop off from his first season book of 129 mares, but sale ring results like these are certainly encouraging for those who do have mares in foal to the outstanding son of Teofilo (IRE).
Darley's Exosphere had 13 yearlings average $87,385 and his best result was a filly from Casilda that made $250,000 for Glenlogan Park when secured by P Karlsson.
A Group I winning son of Lonhro, Exosphere covered 130 mares last spring.
Vinery Stud's Press Statement was not far behind with 11 yearlings averaging $84,409 and his best result came with a colt from Calaluna that made $270,000 for Fairview Park when bought by Star Thoroughbreds / Randwick Bloodstock.
A dual Group I winning son of the late Hinchinbrook, Press Statement covered 129 mares last spring.
