Smart Winner for Dissident

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 31
Australian Horse of the Year Dissident added a new winner to his tally on Thursday at Pakenham when the Tony McEvoy trained colt Outlandos saluted.

Outlandos as a yearlingOutlandos showed the benefit of race fitness and experience to zoom home from off the pace and win the 1200 metre maiden by more than a length at his third start.

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newgate Farm draft for McEvoy Mitchell Racing, Outlandos is the second winner from stakes-placed Fastnet Rock mare Rocksan.

Rocksan returned to Dissident the following season so her owners Sue and Alan Olive of WA based Gold Front Thoroughbreds will offer the full sister to Outlandos at the Perth Magic Millions as Lot 117.

Rocksan is now back in foal again to Dissident, so they will certainly be cheering Outlandos on to further success!

With 40 entries for Inglis Classic, Dissident is the third most represented sire at that sale and will be looking to build on his earlier good results this year at Magic Millions where his yearlings sold for up to $300,000.
