Only one of the top two in the Quezette Stakes betting is likely to take their place at Caulfield on Saturday.

Blue Diamond winner Catchy is the $2.60 favourite on Sportsbet's Quezette Stakes market with Tulip at $6 but the Lindsay Park operation is likely to scratch one of the pair.

Up to 10mm of rain has been forecast for Melbourne on Friday and co-trainer David Hayes said the amount of rain to hit Caulfield will determine which of the pair starts in the Quezette.

"Catchy, if the rain doesn't come will definitely run and if she runs, she will take a power of beating. She's a quality filly," Hayes, who trains the fillies in partnership with his son Ben and nephew Tom Dabernig, said on the Lindsay Park weekly summary.

"If Catchy runs, Tulip probably won't run but if the rain comes, Tulip will run and I'll be very confident."

The third of Lindsay Park's acceptors Ploverset is a $10 chance in betting but Hayes expects the thee-year-old to produce a solid first-up effort.

Ploverset scored at Listed level at Flemington first-up last time in before running a solid third to Shoals and Garrard in the Group III Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes (1200m) in March.

"She's a really good filly," Hayes said.

"She's a stakes winner already and I think she's in for a wonderful preparation.

"I expect a first-three performance but I'm just not confident she can beat Catchy."
