Hot Lots Day 2 Magic Millions 2019

Mark Smith - Wednesday January 9

The momentum continued to build throughout the opening day and there were slam dunks aplenty by vendors.

Purely Spectacular (Pins), the dam of the $1.6 million session-topping Redoute's Choice colt was a $170,000 Karaka yearling and a $300,000 broodmare. She is the dam of Stratum's dual Group 1 winning son Stratum Star.

The Magic Albert mare Tai Tai Tess was a $31,000 yearling in 2010. Her colt foal by I Am Invincible made $1.3 million a year after a full brother sold for a sales topping $2 million.

Rose Of Choice (Choisir), the dam of the $1 million I Am Invincible filly, could not make her $60,000 reserve as a yearling in Perth. She went on to win the Listed Jungle Dawn Stakes and her I Am Invincible colt was preceded by a $450,000 Hinchinbrook colt.

A Zoustar colt out of Shakeira that was pinhooked for $310,000 by Redwall Bloodstock sold to Spendthrift Australia for $9000,000.

And what about Peggy Jean the dam of the $1 million Medaglia d'Oro colt. The daughter of Myboycharlie (FR) was purchased as a weanling for $25,000, as a yearling for $46,000 and as a broodmare for $1 million. Her first two foals have grossed $1,750,000.

The Casino Prince mare Sookie was a $60,000 yearling purchase by Nathan Tinkler's beleaguered Patinack Farm. A week after she won the Group III BRC Glenlogan Park Stakes, the daughter of Casino Prince took her place in the Patinack Dispersal where she was knocked down to Gai Waterhouse on behalf of prominent owners, Greg and Donna Kolivos, for $700,000. Her Not A Single Doubt filly was purchased by Alan & Jennifer Acton for $550,000.
