Hong Kong Up and Comer for Not a Single Doubt

Tara Madgwick - Sunday December 23
The prestigious Griffin Trophy at Sha Tin on Sunday was won in dominant style by lightly raced Not a Single Doubt three year-old Perfect Match.

Perfect Match - HKJCTrained by Danny Shum, Perfect Match lined up with two emphatic Sha Tin successes to his name and was sent off as short priced favourite to emulate subsequent BMW Hong Kong Derby hero Luger and Pakistan Star in landing this HK$2 million contest restricted to three-year-old PPG and ISG imports.

He powered to the line to win the 1400 metre contest by a length and a half over Zousyar colt Quadruple Double and has now won three of four starts.

"He showed that he can lead or box seat today," said Danny Shum.

"I think he will only go up 2lb or 3lb so I'll give him a break and run him in a Class 3 over 1400m next month. Karis (Winning rider Karis Teetan) says that he's a very good horse!"

A $130,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Arrowfield stud draft for C McAnulty, Perfect Match is a half-brother to stakes-placed Schiffer from Modave, a half-sister by Montjeu to Group I winner Sharvasti.

Arrowfield Stud's Not a Single Doubt is making his mark in Hong Kong with six winners so far there this season.
