First Winner for Polanski

Winner of the Group I VRC Victoria Derby in 2013, Polanski sired his first winner at Mornington on Monday when Lesedi broke the ice for Robbie Laing, who also trained her sire.

PolanskiUnplaced at her previous start in the Group I VRC Oaks Lesedi appreciated a drop back in grade to maiden class and score a head victory over 2045 metres as favourite.

Bred and retained to race by Laing, Lesedi is the third winner for well bred Last Tycoon (IRE) mare Diamond Broker, a half-sister to Group I AJC Derby winner Innocent King and Group II winner Royal Snack with Group I winning fillies Unearthly and Invest also in the pedigree..

With his oldest progeny just three year-olds, Polanski stands at Ducks Crossing Farm on the Mornington Peninsula at a fee of $5,500.
