New Date for Tasmanian Sale

Australia's number one thoroughbred auctioneer Magic Millions has today announced that the 2019 Tasmanian Yearling Sale will now be conducted on MondayFebruary 25.

Accordingly the associated pair of Magic Millions races at Launceston will be run on Sunday February 24, joining the Tasmanian Oaks Day program.

"The Tasmanian Yearling Sale has evolved in recent years and it now regularly attracts buyers from all over Australia," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said.

"The new sale dateprovides our vendors with the best chance to showcasetheir yearlings and the buyers every chance to make it to Launceston."

"On behalf of Magic Millions I pass on my gratitude to both Tasbreeders and Tasracing who joined us in negotiating with many stakeholders around Australia in confirming the new sale date and ensuring the race programming amendments complement the Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival for all participants."

Magic Millions is proud of its relationship with the Tasmanian thoroughbred industry and in doing so is excited to announce a new long term arrangement has been locked in to continue its conduct of the Tasmanian Yearling Sale.

"This agreement highlights Magic Millions' renewed commitment to Tasmania and breeders in the state," Bowditch added. "We are proud of the growth of the sale and the record ofgraduates over recent years."

The much anticipated catalogue for the 2019 Tasmanian Yearling Sale will be released later this month, hot on the heels of the Group Two win of star sale graduate Mystic Journey over the Melbourne Spring Carnival.

In further exciting news it has been revealed the two Magic Millions feature races to be run at Launceston on February 24 have received significant prizemoney boosts.

The Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic will now carry prizemoney of $75,000 while the former 3YO Classic will also be open to four-year-oldsand will run as the Tasbreeders Magic Millions 3&4YO Classic with prizemoneyboosted to $65,000. The connections of the first three placegetters in both Magic Millions races will also receive sales credit vouchers to spend at the 2019 Tasmanian Yearling Sale.
