Chris Waller trained a treble at Flemington on Saturday where several favourites were beaten.
Jaminzah and Wayanka scored for Waller before Michael Walker steered Alward to victory in race eight.

Race 1, 3yo BM70: Sheer Madness attracted some quiet support but most of the focus from punters was elsewhere. The son of Moshe was $10 into $8.50 on the day but was as much as $14 on Thursday prior to the scratching of Aljawzaa. Confluence ($6) and Kedleston ($17-$14) filled the minors in a tough day to start at Flemington. Mulk ($4.60), which led, and Nistaan ($3.80-$4.60) were the two most popular runners and held 46 percent of the market between them. BETS: Nistaan $5,000 @ $5.50.
Race 2, Open: Master Zephyr was the best supported runner late in betting. Hovering the $3.30-$3.50 mark throughout, Master Zephyr started at the latter price and finished hard down the Flemington straight to nail the leader in the shadows of the post. Kilimanjaro ($2.80-$3.80) drifted significantly but still had its fair share of support and went around as the most popular runner in terms of money held. He led and kicked strongly but couldn't withstand the finish of the winner. Crafty Cruiser ($34) was third in front of the equal favourite Super Haze ($3.80-$3.50). BETS: Master Zephyr $2,400 @ $3.50.
Race 3, Open: Sovereign Nation landed some big bets. Sent out a $2.40 favourite, Sovereign Nation held over half of all bets on the race. Settling just off the speed jockey Regan Bayliss unleashed the gelding down the straight to race right away from his rivals. Tally ($9-$7) battled on for second in front of Tried And Tired ($9.50-$8.50) who sat outside the leader for the journey. Onerous ($3.30), the well supported second fav in the market, led but couldn't keep going and wound up fourth. BETS: Sovereign Nation $3,000 @ $2.40, $2,000 @ $2.40; Onerous $5,000 @ $3.40.
Race 4, BM84: Jaminzah finished right over the top of his rivals to win and was one of the better tried runners in the race, backed late from $4.60 into $4.20, however, it was $3.70 earlier in the day. The Chris Waller runner tracked the popular pick Portion Control ($4.80-$3.70) was too strong for it at the finish. Duke Of Ellington ($14) was third after leading. Portion Control held just under 30 percent of the total investment. Of the others, Cosmic Lights had its admirers and attracted several big bets late. BETS: Jaminzah $1,000 @ $4.40; Portion Control $3,000 @ $3.80; Cosmic Lights $4,100 @ $6.50, $3,000 @ $6.50.
Race 5, Mares BM84: Favourite backers were left disappointed with Samovare finishing second. The Lindsay Park-trained runner was one of the best backed runners all day at Flemington, holding approximately 55 percent of all bets on the race and bottomed out at $1.90 before starting a $2.25 favourite. Although finishing off the race stylishly, she couldn't peg back Swampland ($5) who was strong on the line. Niminypiminy ($10-$9) attracted good each-way support and filled the minor end of the prize. BETS: Samovare $3,000 @ $2.15; Niminypiminy $1,000 @ $10; Swampland $1,000 @ $5.
Race 6, BM70: Wayanka ($5.50-$4.20) was a popular result for TAB customers in taking out the first leg of the Quaddie. The Chris Waller-trained runner went around with 30 percent of the market on his back. Switching back a few horses off the fence proved to be the winning move for Wayanka who beat Mr Optimistic ($18) and Invictum Domina ($5-$4.20) who attracted big money late. BETS: Wayanka $2,000 @ $4.20 twice; Invictum Domina $6,000 @ $4.20, $5,000 @ $4.
Race 7, Aurie's Star Hcp: Hey Doc ($6-$5) returned to racing in fine style. Staying towards the outside fence proved the place to be with jockey Luke Currie getting everything out of the son of Duporth over the concluding stages. The Tony McEvoy-trained runner was the best supported runner in the race with a 22 percent total hold. Cannyescent had big money late and was a narrow second. TAB customers backed it from $5.50 in the morning into $3.60. Grande Rosso , the first horse backed on Wednesday when $19 was available, was third after starting $12 (out from $6 in the morning). Of the others, I Am A Star ($6-$5-$5.50) had strong backing and outside of Hey Doc was the best tried in the race. BETS: Hey Doc $6,000 @ $5; Cannyescent $6,000 @ $3.70, $5,006 @ $3.70.
Race 8, BM78: Alward ($7-$5.50) stormed home to win under Michael Walker. There was support around throughout the day to suggest he could be beat Crocodile Rock, however, that particular runner held three times the amount of money. Electric Fusion ($51) ran second in front of the heavily tried favourite Crocodile Rock who held 45 percent of the market. Of the others, Galaxy Raider ($5.50-$4.60) trimmed up from its morning price. BETS: Crocodile Rock $2,000 @ $3; Alward $1,000 @ $7, $1,000 @ $5.50 twice.
Race 9, BM90: Sunday Escape ($13-$9.50-$11) held on to win the last race. Racing up on the speed for a good portion of the trip, Dwayne Dunn had to get everything out of the gelding to land the prize. So Si Bon ($19-$14) was specked late in betting and flashed home to just miss out, while Play Master was third at big odds ($31). It was a tough end to the day for TAB customers who sent out Rocket Tommy ($5-$6) as the most popular runner. Rocket Tommy accounted for 45 percent of all bets and was three times as popular as race favourite, Runson ($5-$3.50). BETS: Sunday Escape $1,500 e/w @ $11/$3.50; So Si Bon $3,000 @ $14.
