Juvenile Trial Winner for Rubick

Tara Madgwick - Monday September 3
The Rosehill barrier trials on Monday morning featured a heat for new season two year-olds with Coolmore based young gun Rubick providing the runaway winner Krameric.

Krameric made $200,000 at Magic MillionsPrepared by Chris Waller and ridden by James McDonald, Krameric jumped on terms and then settled last in the field of four before working between runners after turning for home.

When shown clear ground he accelerated nicely and quickly dashed clear to win the 895 metre trial by more than four lengths under a hold. The three youngsters behind him were by Snitzel, I Am Invincible and Not a Single Doubt, so this little quartet were not lacking quality!

"He's a nice horse with plenty of raw talent, so he has a bright future," said James McDonald.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden Stud draft for Mulcaster Bloodstock, Krameric is the third foal of Queen for Ninedays, a winning O'Reilly daughter of Group III winner De Montfort.

A brilliant Group II winning son of champion sire Encosta de Lago from the family of champion sire Redoute's Choice, Rubick was super popular at the yearling sales this year and has been installed favourite by CrownBet to be leading first season sire by winners for 2018/2019.

Rubick is priced at $17,600 this spring and is fully booked.
