Mister Sea Wolf Strikes in Rowley Mile

Mark Smith - Thursday August 23

After taking nine starts to open his Australian account in the Listed Winter Challenge (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens back on July 28, the Chris Waller-trained Mister Sea Wolf (IRE) made it two in a row in Thursday's Listed Rowley Mile (1600m) at Hawkesbury.

Ridden by James McDonald, Mister Sea wolf defeated Flow by a half-length with the winner's stablemate Alward (IRE) one and three-quarter length back in third.

A 7yo son of Amadeus Wolf (IRE), Mister Sea Wolf advanced his overall record to 8 wins,4 seconds and 4 thirds from 33 starts with earnings of $464,387.

"I think the headgear has done amazing things with this horse," Waller's stable representative Liam Prior told Sky Racing.

"It's really sharpened him up, he's focused and put two on the trot now.

"He's a horse we've always thought was capable of racing in some class races so it's good to see him starting to put it all together.

"He's on the right path now heading towards the good races in the spring."

A 3-time winner at the Curragh, Mister Sea Wolf (IRE) is a half-brother to Woodside Park Stud's shuttler Cable Bay (IRE).

By the three season shuttler Amadeus Wolf (IRE) (Mozart), Mister Sea Wolf (IRE) is one of six winners from as many to race out of the Diktat mare Rose de France who is a half-sister to Group III winner and Group 1 placed Bowman (Irish River).
