Greg Polson is expecting a Mark Newnham-trained galloper will be getting the money at Newcastle.

So Hard To Catch is likely to live right up to her name when she starts in the Wambo Coal F&M Benchmark 66 Handicap 1300m.

A four-year-old daughter of Home Spun, So Hard To Catch is the winner of one of her six starts to date leading all the way to win her maiden on the Newcastle Beaumont circuit over 1300m at her second career start. Since then  she has finished in the placings on three occasions including a close second at Kembla at her last start on August 5.

So Hard To Catch looked home for all money at the 200m mark at Kembla but just wilted over the latter stages and was run down by Canberra at the end of a solidly run 1400m for the girls where the overall time was approximately 12-lengths quicker than the colts and geldings over the same journey on the day.

A margin of over three-lengths to the third horse adds even more merit to the performance.

Rory Hutchings was in the saddle at Kembla and retains the ride on Saturday and should be able to control the race from an ideal barrier two making So Hard To Catch exactly that!
