Fifth Stakes Winner for All Too Hard

Mark Smith - Saturday July 21

Carrying the well-known colours of Tony Santic, the All Too Hard colt Unfair Dismissal avenged his last start defeat by Poised To Strike in Saturday's Listed Oaklands Plate (1400m) at Morphettville Parks.

Given a positive ride by John Allen in a muddling run race, Unfair Dismissal tracked the early leader First Diamond before hitting the front at the 250 metres then holding the challenge of Firstclass Dreamer (Dream Ahead) by three-quarter of a length with Tongsai Boss (Street Boss) one and a quarter lengths back in third.

The heavily back favourite Poised To Strike was caught three wide without cover for the first part of the race and didn't raise the hope of backers at any stage although he made up some ground late to finish two and a quarter lengths from the winner in fourth.

Unfair Dismissal had defeated Poised To Strike at Morphettville on June 9 before finishing third to that colt when conceding him 3.5 kgs over 1250 metres at the same track on June 23.

The Tony McEvoy-trained colt advances his record to 3 wins and 2 thirds from 7 starts with earnings of $112,040.

Bred by Gerry Harvey, Unfair Dismissal was consigned to the 2017 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where he was purchased by Makybe Racing & Breeding for $120,000.

He is the first foal of the Exceed And Excel mare Up And Up who failed to hit the board in her five starts career.

Up And Up is a daughter of the stakes-winning Sir Tristram mare Altrista who placed in the Group 1 Wellington Cup.

Out of the Group 1 winning mare Alynda )Nassau), Altrista is a three-quarter sister to stakes-winner Capestad and a half-sister to Listed winner Zalinda (Zabeel) the dam of Group III winner and Group I ATC Galaxy runner-up Fast 'n' Famous.

Up And Up had a yearling So You Think colt that was sold to Les Kelly for $75,000 at this year's Magic Millions.

After being covered by Pluck (USA), Up And Up was sent to New Zealand where she foaled a filly before being covered by Redwood (GB).

Unfair Dismissal becomes the fifth stakes-winner for Vinery Stud's All Too Hard (pictured) .

The 4-time Group 1 winning half-brother to Black Caviar stands at a fee of $33,000 in 2018.
