Wootton Bassett (GB) had a couple of very good colts – Napoleonic and Wodeton - resume from a spell to run the placings behind gun filly Tempted in the Group III ATC Eskimo Prince Stakes last Saturday and we saw another come out and break his maiden at Wyong on Tuesday.

Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by Jason Collett, Providence was a very short priced favourite for the 1350m maiden given his spring form which featured a second to Observer in the Group II MVRC Moonee Valley Vase and a fifth to the same colt in the Group I VRC Victoria Derby.
Observer stepped out for the first time since his Derby victory to win the Group II MRC Autumn Stakes (1400m) last Saturday at Caulfield and Providence has returned with an equally impressive win, albeit in easier grade.
Providence charged to the lead with a furlong to run and cruised clear to win by two and a half lengths.
A $625,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Bhima Thoroughbreds for China Horse Club / Newgate / Go Bloodstock / Trilogy, Providence was bred by GSA Bloodstock and is the first winner from Group I placed Fastnet Rock mare Southbank.
Providence has a staying lean to his pedigree as Southbank is from Group III winning stayer Rezoned, a full sister to four time Group I winning stayer Preferment, who was also trained by Chris Waller and won over $3.4million.
