Tara Madgwick - Monday February 9

Leading international sire Justify (USA) has some lovely Australian bred yearlings being offered at sales this year and Lime Country Thoroughbreds were well rewarded when their colt from blueblood Pierro mare Phylicia sold for $350,000 at Inglis Classic on Monday.

The athletic bay was snapped up by Darby Racing / Bjorn Baker Racing/ Clarke Bloodstock (FBAA) and is a full brother to quality mare Just Feelin’ Lucky, winner of the Group III BRC Gunsynd Classic and Listed Wyong Mona Lisa Stakes.

Jo Griffin of Lime Country was delighted to get a great result for the colt’s breeder Catherine Remond, who is a new client for the farm.

The sire of 56 SW’s nine of them G1 winners, US Triple Crown hero Justify no longer shuttles to Coolmore Australia from Kentucky, but two of his sons made their debut on the roster last spring in 2024 European Horse of the Year City of Troy (USA) and Storm Boy.
