The Inglis Classic Yearling Sale kicks off on Sunday and if you’re out inspecting yearlings it’s always useful to have a factual picture of what is going on with first season sires, whose second crop of yearlings are being sold right now.
Part of that picture is what is happening at the trials as what happens there invariably reflects on the racetrack.

Click here for the unraced trial report and it’s probably worth noting Home Affairs has had three metro trial winners since the start of the year and has more unraced trial runners in total than any other sire.
The first season list by earnings looks like this with Tiger of Malay on top courtesy of his filly Tigroni running ninth in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic to pick up the womens bonus… lovely for the owners, but a bit misleading in a sire table.
Both Home Affairs and Stay Inside have stakes-winners in New Zealand, the former with Kinnaird and the latter with Lassified, who is an acceptor for the $2million Inglis Millennium on Saturday.

Profiteer also has a runner in the race in Star of Jamaica, while the Home Affairs filly Jacaranda is also in the mix although is nominated for the Group II MRC Blue Diamond Prelude as well.
