MyRacehorse Snap Up $750,000 Stay Inside Filly

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 16

With two stakes-winners on his resume already, Golden Slipper winning sire Stay Inside couldn’t be doing much more and Sledmere Stud were well rewarded when they sold one of his fillies at Magic Millions on Friday for $750,000.

The highest price so far at this sale for her sire, the powerful chestnut is the first living foal of metro winning So You Think mare Ruru, a half-sister to outstanding dual Group I winning filly She’s Extreme, who is by Stay Inside’s sire Extreme Choice.

$750,000 Stay Inside filly from Ruru.

The filly was knocked down to MyRacehorse Pty Ltd/Belmont Bloodstock Agency (FBAA)/AWB and has pedigree to back up her good looks with Belmont Bloodstock’s Damon Gabbedy also impressed with her action.

“It is a much used phrase but she had a huge walk. As loose as a goose. She was a machine, I thought,” he said.

“She has the biggest overstep on the complex, I thought. Great mover, great temperament and just loved her.

“We had to pay way too much. We didn’t think she’s cost that much coming into it but she was such a standout that there was plenty of competition.”

MyRacehorse have already enjoyed success with this sireline as their colours are carried by Group I winning filly Apocaylptic, who is by Stay Inside’s sire Extreme Choice.

Ruru produced a colt last spring by Stay Inside and was then covered by another Golden Slipper winner in Farnan.
