Milburn Creek Sell $1.5million Snitzel Colt

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 14

The first seven figure yearling to be sold at Magic Millions on Wednesday came through just after midday when the Milburn Creek consigned Snitzel colt from Embrace Me fetched $1.5million.

A charismatic chestnut with a powerful sprinters physique, he is the second foal of Kiwi bred Group III winner Embrace Me, who is by Shamexpress, best known as the sire of the world’s best sprinter Ka Ying Rising.

The colt was knocked down to China Horse Club/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd (FBAA)/Newgate & Partners.

“We’re delighted to get the colt. Beautiful horse from a fast mare from a great farm,” said Newgate Farm’s Henry Field.

“We loved the horse. We’ve had so much success with the likes of Invader, Russian Revolution, In The Congo, Wild Ruler. We’ve had five G1 winners by Snitzel.

“I think it is one of those things where you have to buy what you love and hopefully he’s a good horse for us.

“He is very much in the mould of some of those horses. He’s neat and he’s sharp, strong. He’s got attitude.

“The partnership has been a great partnership. We have been together for ten years and produced 15 individual stallions.

“It has been an amazing partnership with China Horse Club and it has lasted for so long and we’ve had so much success with that particular stallion and we thought he was a standout.”

Embrace Me was bought for $700,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale by Suman Hedge Bloodstock for Iskander Racing and comes from a New Zealand female family that has produced G1 winners Military Move and Catalan Opening.

Her first foal is a three year-old colt by Zoustar called Ballpark that was also purchased by Newgate/ China Horse Club and partners from this sale in 2024 for $800,000. He broke his maiden last month at Kembla at his second start for the Chris Waller stable.

Embrace Me produced a colt last spring by Zoustar and was then covered by him again.
