Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 13

Three heats at the Rosehill trials on Tuesday morning were won by juveniles that included an unraced filly by Home Affairs and we also had a first look at the half-brother to $4million earner Lindermann.

The Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou trained Trapeze Artist filly Chilly Girl showed good improvement from her first trial to her second leading all the way to win by a length and a half over Iommi.

Trained by Chris Waller, like his famous older brother Lindermann, Written By colt Iommi showed plenty of natural talent and we’ll be keen to see the Woppitt Bloodstock homebred again.

Retained to race by the Vieira family, who also bred and raced her sire Trapeze Artist, Chilly Girl is the last foal of now retired juvenile stakes-winner I Got Chills, who has the perfect record of nine foals to race all winners and Chilly Girl might be number 10!

The other heat featured some interesting bluebloods with the Michael Freedman trained Home Affairs filly Home and Dry leading all the way to win ahead of a trio of Waller trained youngsters headed by Sequinned, the half-sister by Pinatubo (IRE) to Bivouac.

Third was Home Affairs filly Miss Scandal, who was having her second trial and again looked smart with fourth placed St Gotthard an interesting one as the full brother to Switzerland. A $2.7million Inglis Easter purchase, he closed off nicely under a hold at his first attempt.

Home and Dry was passed in shy of her $600,000 reserve at Inglis Easter and runs for her breeder Sledmere Stud. She is the second foal of stakes-winning Exceed and Excel mare Invictus Salute, a half-sister to Group II winner Splintex from the highly commercial Hips Don’t Lie family.

The other heat was run over 1000m and the winner was Persian Wonder (Hello Youmzain (Fr).
