Widden Deliver the Magic Experience for Owners

Widden are the second largest vendor at Magic Millions this year and if you are looking to get a slice of the MM incentive race action no farm has produced more winners of these rich races that are contested right around the country.

Widden have offered/sold 22 individual winners of Magic Millions incentive races and those winners include nine juveniles highlighted by three very special youngsters that captured the rich Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast, a race that is now worth $3million!

Driefontein was the first Widden sold juvenile to salute at the Gold Coast in 2012, followed by Le Chef in 2015 and the great champion Sunlight in 2018.

Set to carry the hopes of Widden this year is the Ciaron Maher trained Supido colt Unit Five, who won the Magic Millions Victorian 2YO Classic on debut at Caulfield last month.

He won a barrier trial at the Gold Coast on Monday and is set to take his place on Saturday week.

The Widden draft is set showcase half a dozen yearlings by the farm’s exciting first season sire Jacquinot, a two time Group I winner, who combines the blood of champion sires Encosta de Lago, Redoute’s Choice and Lonhro.

A Blue Diamond place-getter at two, Jacquinot blossomed at three to win the Group I ATC Golden Rose as a spring 3YO and then returned in the autumn to beat the older WFA horses in the Group I MRC CF Orr Stakes, a race won also by Redoute’s Choice and Lonhro.

Lot 300 Colt Stay Inside x Freehearted by Dylan Thomas (IRE)

Second foal of seven-time metro winning half-sister to G2 winner Villa Verde, dam of this season’s top class G3 winning 3YO filly My Gladiola, also second in G1 VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes. Family has also produced G2 winner Doubtland and SW’s Bellazaine and Pretty Fast.

From the second crop of exciting young sire Stay Inside, already the sire G3 Breeders/ Plate winner Incognito and SW  Lassified.

Lot 330 Filly Zoustar x Graceful Girl, by Nicconi

First foal of brilliant sprinter Graceful Girl, 6 wins inc. G1 WATC Winterbottom Stakes. Dam is a half-sister to Group winners Respondent and State Solicitor from G2 winner Avenida Madera.

Nicconi mares are making their mark at stud with his daughters producing six SW’s so far headed by dual G1 winner Magic Time.

Lot 649 Colt Harry Angel (IRE) x Oxford Heart, by Lion Heart (USA)

Half-brother to two winners from stakes-placed Oxford Heart, a half-sister to SW Oxford Poet and to the dam of G3 ATC Breeders’ Plate winner King Kirk, who died after just the one start. From prolific Black Type family tracing back to G3 Gimcrack winner Mother Duck.

Lot 720 Filly Zoustar x Ready to Prophet, by Smart Missile

Bred on similar Zoustar x Fastnet Rock (sire of Smart Missile) cross to G1 winners Zougotcha, Joliestar and Climbing Star.

Lot 781 Colt Anamoe x Secret Trail, by Denman

Half-brother to stakes-placed Spywire and two more winners from SW Secret Trail, a grand-daughter of SW Trail of Gold, dam of G1 winner Gold Trail.

From the first crop of Australian Horse of the Year Anamoe, an $11million earner with nine G1 wins including the Cox Plate.
