Sword of State- One That Got Away?

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 7

Cambridge Stud’s Sword of State might be the one that got away from Newgate Farm with the Group I winning son Snitzel currently sitting on top of the Australian First Season Sires List.

Foaled and raised at Newgate for his breeder Sir Owen Glenn’s Go Bloodstock, Sword of State was bought by David Ellis for $600,000 from the Newgate draft at Magic Millions in 2020 and went on to become the Champion NZ 2YO of his generation.

Sword of State looked like this as a yearling 2020.

With Cambridge Stud selling their entire crop at Karaka this year, there are just two yearlings by Sword of State to be offered at Magic Millions next week so we better take a look at them.
