Rebel Dane Magic Trio Highlight the Passing of Time

Tara Madgwick - Thursday December 18

With a Golden Slipper winning Champion 2YO in Fireburn coming from just his second crop of foals, Rebel Dane was an under the radar sire that found fame in a rush, but as so often happens it takes a very long time for that achievement to follow into the sale ring.

Rebel Dane was relocated to Widden Stud in 2022 to stand at a fee of $27,500 and his first commercial crop of 72 foals are two year-olds this season and the following crop, conceived at a fee of $22,000, are yearlings and three will be offered at Magic Millions by Silverdale Farm.

Rebel Dane began his stud career in Victoria and stood firstly for two years at Swettenham Stud then for three years at Glen Eden Stud, before his relocation to the Hunter Valley.

His original shareholders including Silverdale Farm and partners have continued to support him and offer the following three yearlings.

Lot 846 Colt Rebel Dane x Spirit Medium, by Helmet

Fourth foal of a winning sibling to Group winners Renaissance, Sessions and stakes-winner Haunted from stakes-winner Seances.

Lot 909 Filly Rebel Dane x Thunder Beauty (IRE), by Night of Thunder

First foal of an imported stakes-winning daughter of champion sire Night of Thunder. Third and fourth dams are Group winners so this is a filly with real Euro class right through her female pedigree.

To give you an idea of the quality of this mare… she was bought from the 2022 Arqana December Sale for €330,000 and her next foal is a colt by I Am Invincible.
