The 2026 NZB National Yearling Sales (January 25-29) offers buyers the cream of the New Zealand crop and in the weeks leading up to the sale we’ll go looking for pedigrees of interest for a myriad of reasons.

Savabeel mares have been making news this week with Provence winning the Group I TAB Mufhasa Classic, while the curtain came down on the glittering career of dual Group I winner Orchestral.

Mares by Savabeel are already making their mark at stud and have produced 39 stakes-winners, eight of them G1 winners so we are highlighting yearlings bred on one of the best proven nicks for his daughters.

Street Cry’s top class sire son Per Incanto (USA) has forged an affinity with Savabeel mares with that nick producing 17 winners from 23 starters that include five stake-stakes-winners with the SW to runner strike rate 21.7%.

Heading that list of luminaries is Group I ATC George Ryder Stakes winner Gringotts, who recently achieved the lucrative double of $3million ATC Big Dance followed by the $1million The Gong.

It was his second successive year winning those races and his lucky owners have banked over $6million in prizemoney from the efforts of Gringotts, who was bought from Karaka Book 1 for just $100,000.

There are six yearlings for Karaka Book 1 by Per Incanto from Savabeel mares as listed below:

Lot 75 Filly Per Incanto (USA) x Respect, by Savabeel – Haunui Farm

Lot 97 Colt Per Incanto (USA) x Santa Catarina, by Savabeel – Elsdon Park

Lot 100 Colt Per Incanto (USA) x Savamour by Savabeel – Little Avondale Stud

Lot 141 Filly Per Incanto (USA) x Sorrentina, by Savabeel – Elsdon Park
