Earlier this week we ran a story that was super well read on Street Boss (USA) and he featured on Saturday at Caulfield with a new stakes-winner when lightly raced filly Motorsports took out the $250,000 Group III MRC Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m).

A homebred for Godolphin that joined the Tony and Calvin McEvoy stable at the start of the season unraced, Motorsports was second on debut at Ballarat in October before breaking the ice to win a maiden at Pakenham on November 7.
Lining up against a pedestrian field of largely maiden winners, Motorsports was well fancied and zoomed home late from back in the field for Harry Coffey to win by a length over the only stakes-winner in the field Recuperato.
A stakes-winner last season at two, Recuperato was unplaced at her first two runs back this spring in hot company and her trainer Peter Gelagotis will be thrilled to see the daughter of Farnan show a glimmer of her true talent.
Motorsports has two wins and a second from three starts with $180,000 in the bank and Harry Coffey is a fan.
“She's a ripping filly. She's a pleasure to ride; she does things right and she has a turn of foot, and that's everything you want in horses,” he said.
“I just had to come out and probably get rocking into the race 50 to 100 meters earlier than I wanted.
“I thought that probably showed late when she was peaking, but she won the race pretty easily in the end. It was a good effort. Tony (McEvoy) wanted me to ride conservatively, let the race pan out, and have one last crack at them, and it all went well.”

Motorsports is the best of two winners from Group III winning Exceed and Excel mare Jorda, a half-sister to the dam of stakes-winner Espaaniyah.
Motorsports has a 2YO full sister called Tatiana that has been given to Gary Portelli to train and Jorda has a yearling filly by Street Boss's champion son Anamoe.

Motorsports is the 86th stakes-winner for Street Boss and is his ninth stakes-winner from a daughter of champion sire Exceed and Excel. The nick runs at 16% SW to runner with G1 winners Tentyris and Elite Street bred this way along with glamour 3YO Filly Tempted.
