Dubai Honour Back in Winning Groove - HK Next Stop

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 29

Winner of the $1.5million Group I ATC Tancred Stakes (2400m) at Rosehill back in April, Dubai Honour (IRE) was back in the winning groove at Southwell in the UK overnight taking out the Listed Midnite Churchill Stakes (1m3f).

Trained by William Haggas, Dubai Honour has been racking up his frequent flyer points since his last Australian win which was followed by a fourth in Hong Kong to Voyage Bubble and then two second placings in Germany and France.

Ridden by Cieren Fallon on this occasion, Dubai Honour showed his class when forging clear to beat the favourite Shader by a length.

Dubai Honour will now head back to HK in winning form for the Group I Hong Kong Vase (2400m) on December 14, a race in which he was second last year.

“He’s amazing, he’s one of the yard favourites and he’s an old boy, but he keeps on performing,” said Cieren Fallon.

“He’s one of these horses that trainers dream for and he’s taken us all around the world and I’m very grateful to get on him today.”

Purchased for 110,000 guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Rabbah Bloodstock, Dubai Honour has the overall record of 10 wins and 12 placings from 34 starts.

Dubai Honour is the best of three winners from Mondelice, an unraced half-sister by Montjeu to Frankel’s globetrotting Group III winner Last Kingdom (USA), who stood for two seasons at stud in Australia.

Pride of Dubai can get a good one!

Dubai Honour is one of five Group I winners for Pride of Dubai, who has three entries for Magic Millions and six for Inglis Classic.
