Capitalist is a sire on fire with 10 winners in the past seven days and 31 in the past 30 and adding her name to the list at Caulfield on Wednesday was promising three year-old filly Espana.

Trained by Lloyd Kennewell and ridden by Logan Bates, Espana started favourite and duly scored by more than a length in the 1000m maiden.
Bred and retained to race by Newgate after passing in as a yearling, Espana has been racing consistently and will take confidence from this victory at her fifth start.
A full sister to Group III placed Latizia, Espana is the fourth winner from four foals to race from imported stakes-winner Spanish Pipedream (USA), who died in 2024 and Espana is her final foal.
Second on the leading sires by winners list, Capitalist has sired 64 winners this season that include three stakes-winners Hidden Motive, King of Roseau and Alpha Sofie.
He has 32 entries for the 2026 Magic Millions.
