Greg Polson previews Kembla Thursday August 10

Greg Polson - Thursday August 10

Confident a Peter and Paul Snowden-trained runner will win the benchmark 76 at Kembla on Thursday but which of his two runners will salute is not quite as clear.

The Snowdens will saddle up early favourite Chavish with Blake Shinn on board in the Culmarra Beach Bowling & Recreation Club Benchmark 65 Handicap whilst Josh Parr rides the stablemate Rock Mylady.

Chavish arguably should have won at Kembla last start instead of finishing a close second to Coolcraft after only seeing daylight late and really hitting the line hard when clear.

It is easy to see why Sportsbet have installed Chavish a $4.50 favourite in early betting peaking fourth-up but punters shouldn't discount the chances of Rock Mylady who looked a run short resuming at Rosehill finishing just over three-lengths from the winner Most Exalted.

Rock Mylady was desperately unlucky not to win at Rosehill second-up last preparation when he was held-up at a vital stage and looks well over the odds at $10.

Some punters have an aversion to investing on more than one horse in a race but in this case, it shouldn't be seen as having multiples bets.

A $23 investment on Chavish and a $10 bet on Rock Mylady for a $100 return provides a $3 return.

I can't see anything wrong with backing a $3 winner on any day of the week and that is the case whichever of the Snowden runners gets the money.
