VRC Oaks contender headlines November (Early) Online Sale

Media Release - Friday October 31

An exciting opportunity is presented in the Inglis Digital November (Early) Online Sale next week when a share in a runner bound for Thursday’s $1m G1 VRC Oaks is offered.

Morisu Ojo (Maurice) – trained by Ciaron Maher – broke her maiden in explosive fashion in September before taking on the colts and geldings in the Listed Super Impose Stakes at Flemington.

She was beaten just 1.7L to Options - a $12 chance in tomorrow’s G1 Victoria Derby – in the Super Impose, before making strong late ground in the G3 Ethereal Stakes at her most recent start a fortnight ago.

Morisu Ojo is currently a $15 prospect for the Oaks, which will be run just 24 hours after the sale finishes.

“We’ve offered shares in a Melbourne Cup runner in the lead-up to the race that stops a nation before but never shares in an Oaks horse in this manner so this is new ground for Inglis Digital and very exciting,’’ Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth said.

“I know Ciaron Maher has a strong opinion of Morisu Ojo so to have the opportunity to buy into this filly literally 24 hours before she is set to contest the VRC Oaks, it’s an incredible scenario.’’

The racehorse shares section on Inglis Digital continues to go from strength to strength each and every sale, thanks largely to the success of past offerings including Private Harry (2.5% share), Charm Stone (10% share), Private Eye (5%), Benedetta (5% share), Light Infantry Man (5%), Baraqiel (2x5% shares), Port Lockroy (10% share), Abounding (5% share) etc.

Morisu Ojo is one of a vast number of key racehorse shares available in the November (Early) catalogue, which is now open for bidding.

Untapped 3YO Farcited (Farnan) finished a close 2nd at just his second career start earlier this year in the G3 Black Opal Stakes, before contesting the G1 Golden Slipper while fellow 3YO colt Farnicle (Farnan) finished 2nd at his most recent start in the $500,000 Tapp-Craig and is already G2 placed as a 2YO.

Both horses have 5% shares being offered in this sale, as does the G1 placed Strait Acer and the Stakes winner Statuario while a 2.5% share is available in promising 3YO with two wins from three starts in Royal Mover and a 47.5% share in the dual Stakes winner Devoted.

In total the November (Early) Sale consists of 302 lots including 173 racehorses (76 race fillies), 61 racehorse shares, 31 broodmares, 27 yearlings, 5 2YOs and 5 unraced stock.
